Continuing on the road to self destruction

If America continues unabated into Iraq and continues to Iran and Korea then we will be following the plan exactly as Bin Laden envisioned. He knew that America would attack the Middle East which would increase hostility throughout Islam to unite them against America and the west. Bin Laden's goal is to weaken America and remove it as a world power leaving Islam to fill the void. If America overextends itself into another country and perhaps another, we will lose our status as a world leader and that alone is worse than losing in Iraq. China is poised, they are waiting for the US to make a mistake. A mistake in today's climate can happen in an instant, we can lose our standing in the world in no time and China can take that opportunity to extend its empire. American leadership used a single day to launch a war on two countries, what will China use to do the same? When will they decide America is too weak to defend itself; attack Japan, draw us into action and then it's goodbye American pie. It can happen in no time, there is no guarantee of this way of life.

Smart people must decide our fate, and we elect C student, legacy, oil baron, war profiteers to lead us. And what have they done? Started two wars and raised gas prices to record levels of price, profit and deceit. Eisenhower warned us of these men, the men that own national defense and run the country like a totalitarian regime. Could they have killed Kennedy and have they been consolidating power ever since? They gave us an actor, a oil baron, then Clinton came along and put a kink in the chain so they got a man cheating on his wife (Gingrich) to lead a crusade against a man cheating on his wife. Furthermore continuing to do everything they could to destroy him. So all his good deeds went left unnoticed in the election of his successor. They got super lucky and landed the Chimp in Chief to do exactly their bidding. And we joke about it on TV, "Oh, Cheney is running the country..." Heeheehee "Oh look! Britney is FAT!"

It's disgusting to recount our woes
tragic they go mostly ignored

God bless America,

Apathy

American Dissent

American dissent does not aid our enemies. That is propaganda by people who want to wrap you in the flag and make you hate your fellow countrymen by calling us un-American.

I dissent.

I was an Alter boy, Safety Patrol, Boy Scout Senior Patrol Leader, Order of the Arrow Vice Chief of Communications, never even so much as had a speeding ticket and I've voted in every election local, state and national since I was 18.

If you call me un-American because I say Bush is the worst thing to happen to this country since Osama Bin Laden then you have no idea what freedom means.

The fatal flaw of the Liberal ethos

The liberal ethos of the last thirty years has gone from the mindset of a helping hand to that of an overprotective mother. The political agenda, if you will, of your common liberal is to seek a way to help others through the use of government programs designed to assist those in need. This is seen as a direct cousin of the normal use of a federal system of government. This is good for everybody because we live in a symbiotic relationship with everyone in our country and when the poor have advantages to get ahead that is good for everyone. It keeps the poor from looking for other advantages for one thing. The liberal remembers that all was not perfect when we started this country and many people were disadvantaged during this time. It is with a sense of pride that a liberal wants to help others because most people realize that hard work is only one part of success, luck and circumstance being others.

So the liberal helps, but they want to help their way. They know what’s best because they sat down and thought about it so it must be right. And that’s the biggest problem with the liberal ethos. For example, perhaps a liberal sees in his life no use for a gun, for some reason he thinks this is how everyone should feel, and born is the gun control movement.

This mindset was a perfect match for the overzealous PC movement that has forever changed the way people talk and act.

Escape From New Orleans

In a scene out of Escape From New York the SWAT Team moved in. They had a single mission, a lone rescue...of a cop’s wife. The New Orleans convention center played host to one of the country's most terrible moments of recent history. During the flood, as we all know, the poor who could not evacuate themselves came to the Super Dome and the Convention center. The Super Dome had a plan in place to check for weapons. The Convention center wasn't even supposed to be used. But the people came after being turned away from the full Dome and sent into Dawn of the Dead mixed with Escape From New York with a little Mad Max thrown in. It became everything one could fear the end of society may bring; rape, murder, and mayhem.

It was pandemonium and the people were at the brink of collapse with no food or water for days, forgotten by their government and left to defend themselves from a society corrupted by possession, influenced by valueless demagogues, and brought up on celebrated conquests of war.

And then, guns blazing, salvation came in the form of the SWAT Team and a baker’s dozen of m4 commando rifles. People were thanking God assuming they were the advance team of the rescue. But they were the there for something else. The President's plane went down over the water city and his escape pod had fallen into the convention center and only Sgt. Snake Plissken could save him. Actually a Cops wife was in the convention center and he had convinced the SWAT Team to go get her and a loved one out. They came in, shouted her name, found her and the friend, put the white women in the center of a circle and led her out with, as I said before, 13 machine guns pointed at the dizzied citizens.

"We were aiding an Officer,” said Sgt. Ganthier.

Definition - Simpsons Generation

Simpsons Generation - Americans who grew up during the creation of the time where every aspect of American Pop Culture has a Simpsons reference. Approximate year of High School graduation, 1989-1992.

*Editor's note*
This is my generation. I refuse to be labeled an X’er or any other absurd title that came after. You want to know when I grew up? It was when Bart told me to be an underachiever, thank you.

Mr. Trout Helps Us Understand the Essence of Apathy

The Driver said he used to be a hunter and a fisherman, long ago. It broke his heart when he imagined what the marshes and meadows had been like only a hundred years before. “And when you think of the shit that most of these factories make-wash day products, catfood, pop-“

He had a point. The planet was being destroyed by manufacturing processes, and what was being manufactured was lousy, by and large.

Then Trout made a good point, too. "Well," he said, "I used to be a conservationist. I used to weep and wail about people shooting bald eagles with automatic shotguns from helicopters and all that, but I gave it up. There's a river in Cleveland which is so polluted that it catches fire about once a year. That used to make me sick, but I laugh about it now. When some tanker accidentally dumps its load in the ocean, and kills millions of birds and billions of fish, I say, 'More power to Standard Oil' or whoever it was that dumped it."
Trout raised his arms in celebration. "'Up your ass with Mobil gas,'" he said.

The driver was upset by this. "You're kidding," he said.
"I realized," said Trout, "that God wasn't any conservationist, so for anybody else to be one was sacrilegious and a waste of time. You ever see one of His volcanoes or tornadoes or tidal waves? Anybody ever tell you about the lce Ages he arranges for every half-million years? How about Dutch Elm disease? There's a nice conservation measure for you. That's God, not man. Just about the time we got our rivers cleaned up, he'd probably have the whole galaxy go up like a celluloid collar. That's what the Star of Bethlehem was, you know."
"What was the Star of Bethlehem?" said the driver.
"A whole galaxy going up like a celluloid collar," said Trout.

The driver was impressed. "Come to think about it," he said, "I don't think there's anything about conservation anywhere in the Bible."
"Unless you want to count the story about the Flood," said Trout.

-Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut

I have to say Mr. Kilgore Trout is onto something here. Apathy exists in a way that allows us to surrender the anger we harbor over what we cannot change. Why is this important? Because up until November 2nd 2004 at approximately 10:30 pm eastern time I was driving myself crazy over this election like it was a life and death decision for the very soul of the people of America to make.

They went ahead and disappointed me for the last time. I feel like a Humphrey after he got stomped by Nixon. The democrats just simply gave up when LBJ decided not to run, honorable, but a dagger in the heart of the party. So what did their flock do? They became yuppies. Now I’m not that soulless, but that money angle sure is attractive right now. If I can’t do anything, if the country as a whole refuses to do anything, then I may as well look out for myself for a change. No longer will my decisions be based on outside influences. Every move I make will be to benefit myself, hell, I might even vote republican next time in an effort to sum up all that is self-concerning.

UP YOUR ASS WITH MOBIL GAS!

The Media Circus Came to Crawford

Cindy Sheehan reminds me of the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth. Both are directly connected to the argument at hand yet they are hated by those who disagree, vilified even. The Swift Boaters believed they had necessary information that the public needed to know about John Kerry, a different perspective that was not being heard in the mainstream media. Cindy Sheehan believes she has information that the President needs to hear, a different opinion that he is not listening to.

Both fully enjoy united support from their side because they admire the circumstance of where they are coming from. How can you tell a veteran he's wrong even if he's wrong? The same goes for Cindy. She has become a symbol for mothers who don't understand the administration's motives for this war. Someone who they can use to place the blame for the deaths of their loved ones. Many have been duped into believing that she was the last straw that convinced them the whole war and every life lost is for nothing. The Swift Boaters represented an identifiable group for veterans to use in order to denounce a "War Hero" like Kerry in favor of a "Fortunate Son" like
Bush.

In today's quick paced, instant hero, instant villain world she has become a byproduct of this system. She is given the opportunity to sit on national TV (because that's what happens now) so she takes it, just like the Boaters did. She attempts to illustrate the polarity this country has over the war and the other side hates her for it. They see her as an attention whore at best, and the Swift Boaters were thought of as lying traitors.

Politics…shit.
Two groups who were highjacked by agendas and powerbrokers. Brilliant

And were supposed to pick somebody from these two sides to represent all of us? Yikes
